Some Tips:
To avoid having back pain, make sure you’re lifting properly and safely. A lot of back pain is caused by not lifting heavy objects properly. Make sure you’re bending your knees, keeping your abs tight, and keeping the object close to your body. This will help take a lot of the strain off of your back.

Make sure you keep the amount of twisting to a minimum, especially if you’re carrying something heavy. If you’re twisting or turning excessively, you could end up pulling a muscle or damaging your spine. When at all possible, keep the amount of twisting you do to a minimum, if you can’t eliminate it completely.

Believe it or not, sleep is actually an essential part of healing from back injuries. Your body does most of its repair work at night when you are relaxed and sleeping and can dedicate all of your energy to healing. If you are experiencing chronic back pain, then good sleep is as important as good medicine.

Listen to your body at all times. If you are moving furniture, and you start to experience back pain, you need to stop what you are doing. Back pain will not get better if you ignore it, it will only get worse. Take a break and give your body a rest.

There is no need to panic when you experience back pain. The most important thing you can do to help yourself is to relax and try not to worry. Most back pain is not serious and will go away with a little rest and treatment. Following these pointers should help you to get some relief from your back pain.

Human Again

14 years ago I woke up one morning almost paralyzed. I had to be carried into the emergency room and left the hospital with muscle relaxants and pain killers from a problem with the muscles in my back and my spine which was simply diagnosed as "back pain." After a week it subsided. From that moment on my life had changed, and for the next 14 years I lived knowing that at any moment my back might seize up and I would be bedridden with heating pads and muscle relaxants for days. I went to numerous chiropractors, doctors, acupuncture, massage therapists and not one was able to get rid of my symptoms. If I wasn't going through a severe attack where my spine felt like it could snap at any wrong movement, I was constantly living with an aching pain. After years and years of this passed I began to accept that this was the way it was going to be and just tried my best to otherwise stay healthy, think positive and hope it would not deteriorate any further. A friend of mine recommended me to Dr. Dan. I was skeptical that he would be able to help after trying so many other things. After my first visit I had confidence that he would be able to heal me. His initial consultation and ability to explain to me exactly what was happening with my spine, why it was happening and how he would be able to help me was reassuring. The curve in my spine at my neck had lost the correct shape, and I have osteoarthritis in my spine. He began treatments on me twice a week and within one month the mobility of my neck was incredibly better and the constant ache and pain that I had been having for so many years had nearly disappeared. Suddenly, I was human again. I am so incredibly grateful to have found Dr. Dan. I am truly confident that he will help me to recover completely over the next few months and maintain the health of my spine over the years.

I've worked with quite a few chiropractors as an national level athlete, college coach, strength coach, and kinesiologist, but none has come close to be as good as Dr. Dan Zybutz. He is a master technician of the spine and I recommend him to all of my clients, as well as my family and friends, and I regularly see him myself.

Personally, I experienced regular back and foot pain that all previous chiros were unable to totally solve. Thankfully I stumbled upon Dan's office a number of years ago, and within a couple of weeks I felt like a new person. (I continue to see him on an ongoing basis.) I've also seen him bring pain relief and healing to a number of my clients, as well as family members and friends.

In addition (as if all of that wasn't enough) his friendly bedside manner and the open layout of his clinic bring a breath of fresh air to the often isolating separate-room-design that most chiros employ.
